Blast Nozzle Orifice Gage

The Blast Nozzle Orifice Gage is popular in the Sand Blasting Industry, this gage measures the orifice size of an abrasive blast cleaning nozzle. It can be used to monitor nozzle wear that can result in lower blast pressure, higher air volume demand (CFM), and/or decreased efficiency.

$149.00 excl. taxes & shipping cost

Features

  • Quickly measures the actual diameter of any blast nozzle
  • Monitors nozzle wear that can result in lower blast pressure, higher air volume demand (CFM), and/or decreased efficiency
  • Indicates the amount of air being consumed
  • Includes etched laser markings for clear visibility
  • Air consumption (CFM @ 100 psi) is also indicated
  • Larger handle for easy gripping with gloves on
  • Once inserted through the back end of the blast nozzle and twisted, the gauge is removed and the nozzle opening is revealed by correlating the etching of the black marker to the scale on the gage (1/4" to 5/8").
  • As a blast nozzle wears, more air will be consumed to maintain blasting pressure. If this is not available a pressure drop will result causing a disproportional loss of blast efficiency. The nozzle gage quickly measures the actual diameter of any blast nozzle and indicates the amount of air being consumed.

Procedure

  1. Unscrew cap from gage body
  2. Remove grease pencil from inside body
  3. Rub grease marker along the rounded side of the gage body (NOTE: Area from 3/16" to 5/8" should be marked with grease pencil)
  4. Screw cap on gage
  5. Insert gage into the back (threaded side) of the blast nozzle
  6. Rotate gage against the liner in the nozzle
  7. Remove gage and record the line scratched in the grease mark

NOTE: The nozzle should be replaced when the orifice is worn more than 1/16" larger than the original orifice size as this is the point that performance begins to dramatically decline.
